In the Nov. 29 issue, the Ukrainian weekly Korrespondent magazine named the best Ukrainian employers in the five most dynamic industries of the economy – bank sector, communications, insurance business, retail business and fast-moving consumer goods.

The magazine also named the overall best employer.

Gfk GeoMarketing, a global market research company, interviewed human resource managers in more than 500 companies in each sector in October. Similar research was already conducted by Korrespondent in 2007 and 2006.

The criteria for choosing best employer, included whether the company grants official employment, how well it observes labor law and the timeliness of salary payments.

In opinion of experts from recruiting agencies, good employers are especially appreciated in times of economic crisis.

Kyivstar became a two-time overall winner, as well as winning the communications category.

Other winners:

-    Raiffeisen Bank Aval in the banking sector;

-    METRO Cash and Carry Ukraine in the retail sector;

-    Oranta in the insurance sector; and

-    Roshen, the confectionary company, in the fast-moving consumer goods sector.
