In the Dec. 20 issue, the top Ukrainian weekly newsmagazine Korrespondent publishes its annual Person of the Year special edition.  

After evaluating the momentous events of 2008, the editors rated politicians, officials, businessmen and art workers. The “Person of the Year” winner is not necessarily a hero. The recognition means that this person had the greatest influence on events in the passing year.

Besides “Person of the Year,” the magazine also names people who mattered in 2008 in Ukraine and abroad, with 10 nominations in the section Ukraine and 10 in the section World.

This is the 7^th annual special edition.
