Korrespondent announces a new contest: The competition for the best Ukrainian book

On Jan. 23, the first contest "The Best Ukrainian Book" started. It will be an annual competition among literary works published in Ukraine and written by Ukrainian authors.

All the books that were published in year 2008 are eligible to win. At the first stage of the competition, Korrespondent readers will choose the best works in two categories: Fiction (artistic prose) and Documentary (memoirs, biographies). 

Readers can vote for their favorite book by e-mail, by mailing a questionnaire from the magazine to the editorial offices of Korrespondent, or by voting on our website korrespondent.net: http://korrespondent.net/books/bestbook/

Korrespondent editors will narrow the list to the Top 10 in both categories. Then a competent judge will decide the winners.

Results will be announced at the end of May 2009. Winners receive cash awards.
